Three Sheets

project Overview

When the world paused and travel fell out of reach, the idea was simple, find a way forward anyway. For this group of anglers, that meant building a trip around instinct rather than access, and committing to a journey defined by the water. We set out across Belize for 21 days, moving through a chain of atolls and flats that ranged from well known fisheries to stretches rarely touched. With land largely off limits, the expedition unfolded almost entirely offshore, navigating by sailboat and pushing into the shallows on foot and by paddle board, always with rods in hand. At the center of it was Captain “Deadshot” Danny, a Belizean waterman whose experience shaped the pace and direction of the trip. There was no fixed plan beyond movement itself. Conditions shifted, routes changed, and each day was built around what the environment offered. The days were measured by light, tide, and weather, and the focus narrowed to what was immediately in front of them. What started as an attempt to fill a gap became something more enduring, a return to rhythm, to uncertainty, and to the kind of experience that only reveals itself as you move through it.
